Torbole sul Garda is the smaller of the two resorts on the northern shore of the lake. It tends to attract a more sporty visitor than its more sedate and much larger neighbour to the west and some of the hotels in the area specialise in windsurfing or mountainbiking holidays. To the north of Torbole the village of Arco offers some famous rock-climbing cliffs.

Vineyards on the outskirts of Torbole
Some of the hotel accommodation is located along the lake shoreline or in the quieter fields to the north of the town, but most of it is clustered around the lively central area of Torbole just off the Via Matteoli.
